Lots of people look for jobs at the same time. Each one of them wants to have the best job available and this is the reason why there is a great amount of competition in the job market. You might be aware of online job search which has become quite popular these days.

There are certain websites which offer you with the list of jobs. You just need to check out the job description match it with your profile and apply for the job. When you read the description you will find the skill, knowledge as well as the experience required for the job is given.

You need to make sure that the qualification required for the job matches with your profile. There are people who are new to the job market while there are others who look for the online job postings because they want a career change.

Whichever job you choose you must make sure that it helps to build your career in the right ways. Always start with the entry level jobs because they help you to learn the work as well as gain some quality experience.

But there are few people who believe in certain myths about seeking jobs online. First of all they have a misconception that the resumes should be long and include lots of information. They think that a big resume is one of the sure shot ways to attract the attention of the employers.

This is not true. It is always important to make sure that your resume is not more than 3 pages. The other popular myth about online job search is that the more popular websites are the best choices.

But this too is not always true. There are lots of fresher who do not have an idea and believe in this myth. They make this mistake and join the popular sites which might be of no use.

So it is very important to make sure that you perform a good amount of research before creating an account with the online job search websites. It is also very much essential to learn about the company in advance before you apply for the job in that company.

There are people who just apply for as many jobs as they can because they feel that applying for more jobs would mean more interview calls. But it is always important to maintain a quality of the applied jobs.

There are so many online job search engines these days that it can be quite confusing to select the best. Therefore you do not have any other way out than performing a good research. If you are going for a career change then you must be looking for something more prospective and flourishing.

Online job search can be made easy if you select the websites which provide a list of jobs related to your field. This will help you save your time as well as toil. First get rid of all the myths about job seeking.

Free Job Search – Myths about Free Job Search

]]>

There is a popular story that goes like this. There was once a king who wanted to pass on all the knowledge gained from his ancestors and experience to the future generations. So he asked all his philosophers and intellectual ministers to write down the knowledge that could be passed on as concisely and briefly as possibly. The compilation was a real bulky book and was continuously trimmed and shortened until the king agreed on a single line of knowledge that could be passed on further. It was – ‘There is no free lunch’!

It is amazing how that is so relevant to the title of the article here. There are more myths existent today than anything else regarding free online job searches. An attempt has been made here to bust those myths and help you get you the actual scenario about the free job search market.

• Free is the best: Many job sites that claim to have a free job search facility are actually faking it (no pun intended)! Not all, but most of such ‘free’ sites are useless when it comes to providing good jobs. All they provide one is with free part-time jobs or free internship searches! Internships are as it is available easily over the internet; so why use a dedicated job site for that? It does not make any sense actually! But some of the top free job sites give a decent enough effort of helping you get a job.

• You can search on anything: Most of the free sites lay claim to another big ‘difference’ from the paid sites. Since they are free, most users are tricked into believing that they can find any job they want. This is not true. Sometimes, job openings do appear on the free sites’ radars but they are not in as much variety as they are in numbers. It is better to stick to self common sense when on a free job site.

• Free Local Job sites are useless: Free job search sites may have fewer jobs on offer, but not all of them are duping people. If you stay clear of any ‘list-building sites’ that you come across, your fears can be safely rested. Free job sites in fact sometimes do a commendable job of providing jobs more since because they attract heavy advertisements!

• The flashier the site, the better are the links: Another important thing to be wary of is the rampant proliferation of free newsletters and advertisements in your mail inbox. What most people don’t realize is that by taking your email IDs, they are only building their advertisement procurement list! They are, in this way, able to target many people in a single shot.

• Free email IDs work fine: Keep your free email IDs limited to the social networking sites. Once you enter the corporate arena (even when you’re not employed), your employer expects you to be utterly professional and serious about your work – whether it is job searching or even working!

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/Homeschooling Myths: Popular Homeschooling Myths

Myths about homeschooling abound, either as false assumptions held by parents who send their children to public school, or by parents considering a homeschool for their preschool children ,or even those parents considering pulling their older kids out of public school to start a homeschool.

Many parents may think they are inadequate to homeschool their children because they are not “certified teachers,” not properly trained or qualified for this task. This thinking is linked to a widespread myth about homeschooling: Many people believe that a child learns and studies through a formal curriculum taught in a homestyle “classroom,” the kitchen table, dining room table or bedroom desk, by the parents as teachers.

However, the fact is that while children can learn in this way, they also can and do learn through a myriad of methods. These include formal teaching and lessons done by a parent; activities and get-togethers with the homeschool community and other children; everyday, real-life experiences; independent study time and activity time; helping around the home with chores; family outings, trips and holidays; and more.

As a matter of fact, one of the major benefits of homeschooling is that you as the parent can formulate a tailored “curriculum” for your child using a variety and a combination of resources and ideas instead of relying on prepackaged curriculum. You can be flexible and be in complete control of what your child learns and how they learn. You can also choose the approach of teaching and your own educational philosophies through homeschool depending on you and your child’s styles, preferences, and needs. You may even vary your teaching approaches from day-to-day and from subject-to-subject. Your approach is completely up to you. Studies have even shown that children score extremely high on standardized tests, even though many of them have not been taught formal curricula by their parents.

Another widespread myth about the homeschool life and homeschool families is that children are basically always stuck at home, and consequently become isolated and lack in socialization skills. However, the truth is that children tend to be very active in their homes, neighborhoods, and communities as participants in a plethora of activities including sports teams, volunteering, special classes, private lessons, babysitting, part-time jobs, church events, and clubs.

Homeschooling need not equate isolation. You, the parent, can help your child become involved in society and provide opportunities for social interaction daily. You have the added advantage of having a very flexible schedule, allowing you to do the things you need to do as well as things you’d like to do, whenever it suits you.

Homeschool Math Curriculum And Your Childs Learning Styles

Should we be using a different measuring tool for intelligence? Dr. Howard Gardner, a professor of education at Harvard University, thought so. In 1983 he developed the theory of multiple intelligences, a measuring tool that allows for a multi-faceted look at the qualities and talents that comprise true intelligence. Your homeschool curriculum allows the flexibility of incorporating aspects of this theory into all of your lessons in all subjects.

One of the greatest myths that exist about the homeschooling phenomenon is that children who learn at home will not develop the necessary social skills needed for later in life. This belief is due to a narrow view of the process of socialization and a misunderstanding of homeschooling in general.

Socialization can occur in many forms. Sitting in a public school classroom with 20 other children is one limited form. In fact, homeschoolers have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of social situations that a typical school setting would not allow. Homeschoolers who have siblings have a built in social environment in the family unit. They are able to learn communication skills and problem solving skills through daily interaction with their brothers or sisters. Attending church and/or a weekly Sunday school class also gives homeschoolers interaction with other children their age, in addition to adults. Children who attend homeschooling groups have interaction with other students of various ages, teaching them how to socialize with older and younger children.

The very nature of the homeschool curriculum gives homeschooling families a flexible schedule. Students are free to join groups such as the 4-H club, the Girl Scouts or the Boy Scouts, or clubs offered by the local YMCA. In fact, local homeschoolers can get together and can start their own clubs! What a great opportunity to learn about responsibility and leadership.

Parents of homeschoolers can take an active role in the socialization of their children. There are many options to pursue. The first step is to find other homeschoolers in the area. There will be a ready bond between homeschool students because of their shared educational experiences. Another step is to find out which clubs are available for their children to join. There were several previously mentioned, but organized sports can also offer a great outlet for social interaction. Many skills can be learned from playing on a local soccer or baseball team, such as maintaining a positive attitude, working well with other people, and being a responsible member of a larger group.

Taking homeschoolers to the local park where other children in the community play is an easy way to give them social interaction with peers. There are also many opportunities for volunteer activities for homeschoolers to participate in. Places like nursing homes, soup kitchens, and state parks are always looking for eager helpers. Being a volunteer teaches homeschool students that they are a part of a larger community and each community member has the responsibility to serve where they are willing and able.

The next time someone tells you that they do not think homeschooling allows for the proper socialization of children, you can just smile and explain how they are mistaken!

Mimi Rothschild is a homeschooling mother of eight, accomplished author, and Founder and C.E.O. of The Southern Baptist Academy. www.TheSouthernBaptistAcademy.org

Rothschild launched the home educating academy because she saw a need for an affordable alternative to the public school specifically for families answering the call to Exodus coming from Southern Baptist Convention Leaders. It is her sincere prayer that Southern Baptists will be able to use the K-12 program in order to achieve academic excellence and moral soundness. The Southern Baptist Academy is an online private homeschool that offers students a world-class Kingdom education alternative.
